Try

My hot water tank flooded my basement…

That was the how I woke up Friday morning, with my oldest son standing over me telling me it had leaked overnight.

My first reaction?

Get a new one and start over.

I mean really, don’t look at it, disassemble it, try and figure out where the problem is.

Just throw it out.

Then I woke up and realized in our family you fix it.

Our house is eleven years old, which means just in the last six months?

Dryer, washer, and microwave all went down.

The microwave was kicked out it was cheap and not worth our time time or money to try and fix it.

All three of our other appliances?

The parts and effort were worth the investment.

It reminded me of my marriage.

Maybe of yours too?

Think about it.

Dating for a couple months, he/she cheats?

They’re an ass?

You throw them out and move on, they aren’t worth the time and effort to make the relationship work.

Kids.

Home.

Love.

Those are investment pieces.

You take it apart and see if you can fix it.

Find the problem and look into repairing it.

Sometimes it works again.

Maybe when it’s all said and done you still have to throw it away.

And that’s okay.

Just remember my advice.

Upgrade ;-))

Do you research and don’t pick one with bigger problems than your old model.

But don’t be afraid of trying to fix it.

Be Brave my sweet friends.

Just my thoughts, over five years out, on this Sunday morning.

Ever wonder about what he’s doing?

How it all turned to lies?

Sometimes I think that it’s better to never ask why

Where there is desire

There is gonna be a flame

Where there is a flame

Someone’s bound to get burned

But just because it burns

Doesn’t mean you’re gonna die

You’ve gotta get up and try, and try, and try
